Very physical defenseman and not afraid to initiate contact. Above average passer often showing good judgment when pinching. Weak foot speed and not much of an offensive threat.
Lost his coverage assignments early on in his career. Used as a two-way defenseman with good size. Better suited for games with tight checking, clutching and grabbing.

Défenseur puissant pas effrayé d'aller au feu, doublé d'un bon passeur, assez inspiré quand il lâche le palet. À part cela, son arsenal offensif est limité, ce que sa lenteur explique en partie.
Très vite déchargé de ses tâches de couvreur quand l'équipe attaque, ce qui ne correspondait pas à ses qualités. Plutôt employé comme un défenseur polyvalent adapté aux rencontres heurtées où le contact prime sur les espaces.
