Older brother of Rihards Bukarts. Their father Ralfs Bukarts founded Saga Riga club in 1991 and played in the team.
Highly touted as a junior with a good set of skills. Fast and technical with a good one-timer shot.
Tends to keep the puck too much because of his slow decision making. He find openings but don't bury his chances.
Average defensively. Not very physical but also not afraid to get hit and make a play.
Left Riga in 2015 but came back to the KHL five years later as a foreigner after 252 Czech Extraliga games (196 points).

Frère aîné de Rihards Bukarts. Leur père a fondé en 1991 le Saga Riga, dont il était aussi joueur, et y a fait jouer ses trois fils.
Très coté en tant que junior avec un grand éventail technique. Rapide et plein de finesse avec un bon tir en reprise directe.
Il a tendance à garder un peu trop le palet car il est un peu lent dans sa prise de décision. Il se procure des ouvertures mais convertit trop rarement.
Moyen défensivement. Pas très physique mais néanmoins pas effrayé d'aller au contact pour construire une action.
Quand il quitte Riga pour Zlín en 2015, c'est avec l'idée de revenir un jour en KHL avec un autre statut, celui de renfort étranger d'un club russe.
Il y parvient en 2020, à Cherepovets, après avoir marqué 196 points en 252 parties d'Extraliga tchèque.
