Brulé, Gilbert Jean Marco

Position : C/RW

01-01-1987 Edmonton, AB, CAN

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, but moved to North Vancouver, British Columbia as a child.
When he was 9 he experienced a family tragedy when his 12 year old sister died as a result of complications from cerebral palsy. Brulé later had her name tattooed on his left wrist.
He received media attention in 2011 when he picked up a pair of hitchhikers who turned out to be Irish rock band U2 frontman Bono and his assistant in a West Vancouver neighbourhood. In return, Brulé was given backstage passes for him and his mother, for U2's concert in Edmonton on the next day, where he was thanked by Bono for the ride.
Highly touted as a junior and was an early first round NHL-draft pick in 2005.
A player with great and swift skating. High tempo, high energy player. Solidly gritty.
Not afraid to play a physical game. Undersized and injury prone.
Never caught on in the NHL and opted to retire on January 1, 2014.
Came out of retirement a few months later and opted to play in Europe instead.
NHL totals: 299-43-52-95
