Born and raised in Leksand, in the Norsbro neighbourhood.
He played ice hockey with the other local kids at Avandet where there was a small pond.
He also liked to play football and to ski.
He made his debut in the Swedish league as a 16-year old.
Thats when he decided to not pursue his skiing career any further, although he was extremely talented in that sport.
Sigge Bröms was known as a smooth skater who had the ability to stickhandle elegantly through any defense.
He also had a good understanding of the game.
Not much of a playmaker as he rather finished off scoring chances himself.
Liked to go straight on goal. Hard worker during games.
On the national team he was often used on the wing with a defensive responsibility.
Made his debut on the junior national team in 1949 and senior team in 1952.
Represented Sweden 142 times. Became a popular hockey coach after his playing career.

Il joua au hockey avec les gamins du coin à Avandet où il y avait un étang gelé.
Il aimait également pratiquer le football et le ski.

Sigge Bröms était un patineur fluide qui possédait l'habileté de manier le puck à travers toutes les défenses.
Il possédait également une bonne compréhension du jeu.
Pas tout à fait un meneur de jeu dans le sens où il préférait souvent conclure l'offensive par lui-même.
Il aimait aller droit au but. Gros travailleur en match.
En sélection il fut souvent utilisé comme ailier avec une responsabilité défensive.
Il fit ses débuts en sélection junior en 1949 et senior en 1952.
International 142 fois. Il devint un célèbre entraîneur après sa carrière de joueur.
