Hardworking and tactically skilled player. Fine skater with a smooth stride.
Born on a farm in the Riviere Qui Barre district northwest of Edmonton.
Attended St.Anthony’s College and twice received the academic achievement award for the highest average.
Twice he was named the schools athlete of the year.
In 1964 he was named Edmonton’s athlete of the year.
Detroit Red Wings held his NHL rights but he declined all offers from the club to pursue his education while remaining as an amateur player.
Captained Canada.
Studied law at University of Manitoba.
Became a lawyer in Vancouver, running his own firm, specializing in commercial law.
Inducted into the IIHF Hockey Hall of Fame.

Joueur grand travailleur et performant tactiquement. Bon patineur avec une glisse fine.
Il est né dans une ferme dans le district de Riviere Qui Barre au nord-ouest d'Edmonton.
Il a rejoint l'Université de St.Anthony et a reçu deux fois la récompense académique des meilleurs résultats.
Il fut également deux fois désigné athlète de l'année à l'Université.
En 1964 il fut même désigné athlète de l'année à Edmonton.
Les Red Wings de Detroit lui ont ouvert les portes de la NHL mais il déclina toutes les offres du club pour poursuivre ses études, l'obligeant à rester dans le circuit amateur.
Il fut capitaine de la sélection du Canada.
Il étudia le droit à l'Université de Manitoba.
Il devint avocat à Vancouver, ouvrant son propre cabinet, spécialisé dans le droit commercial.
Intronisé au Hall of Fame de l'IIHF.
