Standup goaltender who behaved almost like a third defenseman, going into the corners, combining his exceptional skating and puckhandling to launch attacks.
All time leader in assists among NHL goalies (48).
Had a blinding fast glove hand and often coaxed shooters to aim for that side by leaving it open. Retired in June 2003. Inducted into the US Hockey Hall of Fame.

Gardien debout qui se comportait presque comme un troisième défenseur, allant contre la bande, combinant son exceptionnel patinage et maniement du palet pour lancer des offensives.
Leader de tous les temps des assistances chez les gardiens en NHL (48).
Il avait une mitaine aussi rapide que l'éclair et très souvent il laissait ce côté ouvert pour inciter les tireurs à le viser. Il a pris sa retraite en juin 2003. Intronisé au US Hockey Hall of Fame.
