Looked up to Börje Salming as a kid.
Useful and coachable defensive forward who was often used to shadow the top player of the opposite team. His quick acceleration and aggressiveness as a checker made him a dangerous penalty killer.
Break-away speed and had the ability to beat defenders on the outside. Despite a very hard shot he didn’t shoot enough.
Swedish junior of the year in 1984. World champion 1992. Swedish champion 2003 with Frölunda along his brother Niklas Andersson.
Scored 560 (221+339) career points in 1236 games. Retired in 2003 and became an NHL scout.

Attaquant défensif utile et respectueux des consignes, on l'employait souvent comme vis-à-vis de la star adverse. Ses accélérations brutales et son agressivité défensive contribuèrent à sa réputation de tueur de pénalités.
Donnait de la vitesse aux contre-attaques, durant lesquelles il se faisait une spécialité de contourner les défenseurs. Ne frappait pas assez malgré un tir très puissant.
Élu junior suédois de l'année en 1984. Champion du monde 1992. Champion de Suède 2003 avec Frölunda aux côtés de son frère Niklas Andersson.
A inscrit 560 points (221+339) en 1236 matches disputés tout au long de sa carrière. S'est reconverti en scout NHL après sa retraite, prise en 2003.
