Two time SM-liiga champion (1995, 2002) and runner-up four times.
Won European Hockey League (EHL 1997) where he centered the Media all-star team
Grew up idolizing Jari Kurri and Wayne Gretzky.
Developed under the tutelage of legendary Soviet coach Vladimir Yurzinov in TPS Turku.
Solid wide-shouldered skater who wasn’t particularly speedy.
He was pretty a much non-physical player although a hard worker and a high-energy checker in the NHL.
Had good qualities that were polished by Yurzinov and his awareness mixed with his responsibility was another strength of his.
Forced to retire in 2006 due to a shoulder injury, but continued working in hockey as a general manager for TPS during three seasons.
Scored 454 (176+278) career points in 763 games.

Il s'est développé sous la férule du légendaire entraîneur soviétique Vladimir Yurzinov au TPS Turku.
Ce solide patineur aux larges épaules n'était pas particulièrement rapide.
Il était un joueur pour ainsi dire non-physique, même s'il était un joueur défensif à haute énergie en NHL.
Ses qualités ont été polies par Yurzinov et ses points forts étaient sa conscience et sa responsabilité.
Il a marqué 454 (176+278) points en 763 parties en carrière.
Forcé de s'arrêter en 2006 en raison d'une blessure à l'épaule, il a continué de travailler dans le hockey comme manager général du TPS durant trois saisons.
